Given that 87% of travellers have travel safety concerns about crime, health matters and terrorism, Chubb’s new Travel Smart app is a handy tool that helps business travellers to mitigate their travel risks.
The app, which company employees can download on their smartphones, offers direct access to medical and security assistance as well as live location-based alerts. It is integrated with country-specific advice and includes recommended vaccinations, cultural do’s and don’ts and visa or passport requirements, as well as pre-travel eLearning. Travellers can receive messages from their employer via email or SMS, which can be handy in a crisis situation – and they can also receive push notifications notifying them of risks near their location. They can then adapt their travel schedules if necessary.
For risk managers and human resources teams, an online dashboard will provide an instant and complete summary of travelling employees, including their locations and whether they are in high-risk areas.
“We have developed this tool to help clients proactively mitigate their travel risks and move away from simply being an insurer that pays the claims,” said Luke Powis, A&H Corporate & Affinity Manager at Chubb South Africa.
