Discovery, Liberty, Santam and Old Mutual have come out tops in this year’s Sunday Times Top Brands Awards, which measures a brand’s standing in the marketplace.
Discovery Health Medical Scheme was awarded the Grand Prix as overall favourite business brand in the business category, with Apple iPhone and Vodacom the runners up. In the medical aid category, Discovery came out ahead for the ninth year in a row, followed by Momentum Health (which also held its position from 2017) and Bonitas.
Discovery celebrated further success as Discovery Insure was named the most-loved short-term insurance brand in the consumer category, followed by OUTsurance and Old Mutual Insure. In the business category, Santam scooped the top award, followed by OUTsurance and Hollard.
Liberty came out ahead in the business long-term insurance category, with Momentum Myriad 2nd and Discovery Life 3rd. The consumer long-term insurance category was dominated by the Old Mutual Group, with Metropolitan Life and Sanlam runners up.
