We live in an era where women can have it all, and one of the benefits of being a woman in the 21st century is having a chance to beat the fertility odds, always assuming we can, that is. As comedienne Tina Fey quips: “Science shows that fertility and movie offers drop off steeply for women after 40.” 

Many women are choosing to put off having babies until they feel financially and emotionally ready, which is good news for the baby; who wouldn’t want a secure, mature mom? But what about the financial implications? Are older women really ready to put a child through university with retirement just around the corner?
